Antique Large Wicker Oval Storage Basket with Hinged Lid and Dowel Closure.
Estate sale find.
Lovely antique or vintage basket. Not sure of exact age.
Well made with wide wood slats, with smaller wood woven around. Lid has crisscrossed slats secured with tacks.
Was being used for storing sewing supplies.
Inside dimensions vary from top to bottom of basket.
Inside measurements at top: 23″ X 12 1/2″ X 11″ H (not including lid).
Inside measurements at bottom: 17″ X 8 1/2″.
Outside measurements: 24 1/2″ X 15″ x 14″ H (including folded down handle).
There is a small amount of damage, as can be seen in photos. One closure loop has damage, and carrying by handle would not be recommended, however closure looks fine for display.
